I'm really happy to show you guys a new makeup look that I've done in collaboration with a great girl I met on Instagram who's known as Mels_glam. I loved her style, her way of doing makeup, often super colorful and bold - that's the type of people I want to bond with naturally. And so, I talked about doing a makeup collaboration like the one I did with my Sepia Flapper look and we agreed on one first theme : Galaxy.
I'm in my colorful, bright palette period (but have I ever left it ?) which means I never have enough bright colors in my stash and am always looking for the brightest palettes to purchase. Good ones, obviously. Lately, I've been on a great shopping spree and I have to say, I cannot wait to publish the reviews of all the great palettes I've gotten - and use them in looks !
Today's a new Monday Shadow Challenge - I'm loving how creative I can get with colors and shapes when I'm forced to use two colors that may or may not be matching in the first place ! Today's colors are fuchsia and coral and I had a lot of ideas for this one.
Sometimes I'll wait for ages before getting a products that's caught my eye. Like I always say, I can spend a fifty or a hundred on an order without batting an eye but I'll ponder over a €3 purchase for months. That's exactly what happened with those three products I've been considering getting since my last trip to London - finally got them !
The small vacation I had in London in May with my boyfriend - a mere 4 days that felt so regenerating and so full of surprises ! - was the best ever. I was with my love and I was in my favorite city in the world so really, it couldn't have been better. It could have, actually, but London is such a big city with lots and lots to see and discover that a lifetime won't be enough to see it all.
How funny it is to be writing, for once, about my very own products. I have been a makeup artist for about a year and a half and I've always known, even from the first day back in makeup school, that I want to own my very own brand of makeup products someday. Nothing is done yet. There's still a long, long way to go, lots of things to figure out and understand but here are the first prototypes of the Azami Cosmetics Lip Glosses.
One of the perks of working for M.A.C. is getting all the info about new collections in advance and sometimes, even getting some products along the way. The Electric Wonder limited edition collection we've gotten in store a few weeks ago is one of the most beautiful I've seen from M.A.C. so far and I'm happy I was able to win the face palette in the collection in a in-store challenge - now I can tell you all about it !
What's the hardest thing when I do a makeup is trying to combine two or three given colors that I can't change, like I do when I'm participating in the Monday Shadow Challenge. Sometimes the colors don't match at all, sometimes they match super well but I absolutely want to think outside of the box. If I call myself a makeup artist, I might as well live up to the title, right ?
In the last few days I've created a whole bunch of new makeup looks and I'm so happy I've got colorful content for you guys ! I rarely use eyeshadow when I'm at work because I dislike taking hours in my free time just to do my makeup if it's not recorded somewhere, but boy, have I taken to making new looks for It's Azami...!
I started doing the Monday Shadow Challenge's Facebook group looks again last week with my Acceptable in the 80's makeup look and I was thrilled to do this week's where I had to use pastel green and beige.
The more looks I create, the more I want to shop. And lately, I've been trying to curb my makeup purchases (does anyone else feel it not working ?) because I'm moving to London in about three months now and I've already bought myself a camera and several lenses so I can do a better job blogging and maybe even take up portrait/fashion photography there !
I bought this palette on a whim. Like almost all of my other makeup products, right ? The truth is, I buy a lot of makeup but sometimes, I'll just take years for a specific product before deciding if I'm eventually going to buy it. That was the case with this Ultimate Electric palette from NYX - something about the shades being declined in three different finishes wasn't exactly screaming your name and I rather thought I was going to waste my money.
Sometimes I'll go to NYX and think, "Mmmh, is there anything new I can treat myself to ?" and that day, that was it. I think NYX have four palettes with this system of four shades declined in different finishes and there might be one or two others I'm thinking vaguely of getting and that I'm not getting because I already have the same shades somewhere else in my collection. But the price in itself keeps calling me since they all retail for €18 in France - quite cool for 12 shades (1.18 g each).
I haven't participated in the Monday Shadow Challenge in more than a year, it seems, but with my creativity emerging now that I'm comfortable with techniques and products and myself, I'm ready to give it a shot again !
